How Does It Work?
So easy to organize… Here’s a step-by-step guide to explain exactly how a Rice Bowls
TM campaign works for you and your organization.
Plan. Decide on a date to distribute Rice Bowls to the members of your organization.
Order Your Rice Bowls. You can
Order online or by calling our customer service number, 866-312-5791. It’s best to order 4-6 weeks before the distribution date. Rice Bowls come in boxes of 50.
Distribute. Provide one Rice Bowl to every child, student, or family in your organization.
Set a Collection Date. This is when everyone will turn in their bowls with the money inside. It’s usually best to allow 1 month for everyone to fill the bowls.
Connect Your Members with the Mission. Rice Bowls

Publicize. Publicize. Publicize. Place posters throughout your building. These posters remind your members of the Collection Date. Posters can be downloaded from the
Resources page of our website and can be customized with your contact information.
Remind. Remind. Remind. Place reminders in emails, bulletins, or newsletters. Clip art and logos can be downloaded from the
Resources page of our website.
Collect those Rice Bowls. Collect bowls on the Collection Date.
Open those Rice Bowls. Ask a group to open bowls shortly after the gathering date. Some organizations create a Rice Bowls
TM event after the Collection Date in order to open the bowls. Like the concept of piggy banks, Rice Bowls are disposable and not reusable. However, the lids of Rice Bowls are easily removed.
Count those Coins. Organize a group to count the money collected from the bowls.
Send It In. Send in your check in the amount of the money that you have collected. Use the return slip we will send you,
download a return slip, or complete your campaign with an
online donation. Make all checks out to Rice Bowls.
Tell Us Your Story! Tell us about your Rice Bowls campaign. You can also use the return slip to send us your comments about how the program worked in your organization. Or, submit your Rice Bowls story
online.
Report Your Impact! Inform your members about how much money your organization raised to fight world hunger. Everyone will want to know how their effort combined to make a big impact!
Receive Receipt. Wait for your receipt. Once, we receive your funds, we will send you a receipt.
