All verses from the New International Version (NIV)
translation.
We believe that there is one God who exists and expresses
Himself through the three persons of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. While God fulfills
different purposes through these three members of the Trinity, He is always one
God and the only God.
Then God said, "Let us make man in
our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the
birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the
creatures that move along the ground." – Genesis 1:26
Hear, O Israel: The
Lord our God, the Lord is one. – Deuteronomy 6:4
For this is what the
Lord says-- he who created the heavens, he is God; he who fashioned and made
the earth, he founded it; he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be
inhabited-- he says: "I am the Lord, and there is no other.” – Isaiah
45:18
But after he had
considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said,
"Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife,
because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth
to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his
people from their sins." All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had
said through the prophet: "The virgin will be with child and will give
birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"--which means, "God
with us." – Matthew 1:20-23
Then the eleven
disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain
where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but
some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven
and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit. – Matthew 28:16-19
“I and the Father are
one." – John 10:30
Then Peter said,
"Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied
to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received
for the land? Didn't it belong to you
before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn't the money at your disposal?
What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied to men but to
God." – Acts 5:3, 4
